Studying is not enough to do well on your standardized test. You need to have a good game plan.

Have a Strategy for the Day of Your Standardized Test

Are you getting ready to take the SAT or another standardized test? You're probably planning your study schedule and organizing all the material. Have you considered what's going to happen on the day of the exam? You also need a strategy for that. Here are some tips to get the most of your time during your test.
  • Don't cram: Cramming the night before your exam will only make you feel tired the next day, and you're not really going to learn anything new. Instead, try to get some sleep.
  • Have breakfast: Don't try to take your test on an empty stomach. Eat some superfoods for breakfast to boost your brain power and concentration.
  • Arrive early: You don’t want to miss your test because you were late, right? Wake up early so you can arrive on time.
  • Read the instructions: Don’t risk doing things wrong to get a bit more time. Read the instructions carefully before you begin.
  • Start with the easy ones: Answer what you know first. Don’t focus on hard questions if you don’t know the answers. Skip ahead to the easy ones and come back to the hard ones later.
  • Guess: Try not to leave anything blank. Make educated guesses by getting rid of answers you’re sure are not correct.
  • Review your answers: If you have some time left, review your answers. Try not to change anything unless you’re confident that you should.
  • Concentrate on yourself: Don’t worry about how the others are doing or if they finish before you. Mind your own business and focus on your test.
